A Conversation on the Stupidity of Affected Individuality
me: best form of rebellion, i say, is au naturel
a friend: lol screw rebelling
a friend: nice rebel!
me: be yourself, adhere to your likes and dislikes
me: that’s rebel in itself
a friend: individuality is overrated!
Individuality isn’t over rated. At least I don’t think so. It’s when people forget what individuality is about, that the need to be unique is forgotten.
Individuality: “Be yourself. Doesn’t matter if yourself is like someone else. Doesn’t matter if yourself is not good at math or sports or computers. Doesn’t matter if yourself is an introvert or an extrovert. As long as you behave the way you are, you’re good. You’re set.”
It’s like the lit question about convincing characters. God’s your author and he made you this way, now start behaving like he wanted you to.
I’m not talking about killers or murderers, rapists or molesters, thieves or burglars. I’m talking about the people who find the need to live a life expected of them. You’re a human put on this earth. If you don’t start living like yourself, then your life is of no use to the earth. You’re as good as dead. There’s no need for another pop icon, politician or pope. They’re them. You’re you.
What need an impersonator, when we have the person?
Your life is one jellybean in a tub of other flavours. I’m sure as hell the guy who bought that tub is gonna get pissed off if he tasted 60 Liquorice tablets out of 100. He might not like the coconut flavour, or the taste of popcorn caramel, but damn, after 60 of the same he’s gonna appreciate the change from the norm.
Granted, it’s natural for there to be people who think and behave alike but as long as it’s sincere, I see no reason to demand any more. Don’t behave to please or behave to fit in. Behave as you are. Behave as you feel. Behave as you think.
Behave as you believe.
